Tenstorrent ttsim: functional simulation, no performance data.
This machine runs Tenstorrent’s own open simulator, not PantheonSim’s, with tt-metal installed. Programs
compile and run against the simulated chip, but timings and counters mean nothing here.
AWS nki.simulate: functional simulation, no performance data.
This machine runs AWS’s own CPU simulator for NKI kernels, from AWS’s Apache-2.0 nki
package, not PantheonSim’s. Kernels run as Python and NumPy, so a kernel that passes here can still
fail to compile for a Trainium or Inferentia chip, and timings mean nothing.
There is no GPU in it. Every device, driver and
GPU library is simulated on the CPU, so timings mean nothing here
and counters mean everything.
